Your air conditioner has put in a lot of work this summer and we still have some more heat coming. Just because the date on the calendar has moved over to fall doesn’t mean you’re through with your AC for the season. Keeping up with annual AC maintenance, while also following a handful of other tricks, can help you maintain your air conditioner while staying comfortable too.
Clean Around Your Outdoor Unit
Debris can pile up around your outside unit, specifically during the fall. When the time comes to rake up the leaves in your yard, at least rake up the leaves and debris around your air conditioner. Debris can impact air flow, causing your system to work harder and wear down sooner. We want your air conditioner to last as long as it can.
Raise the Temperature on Your Thermostat
Keep your thermostat set at the highest temperature you can while still staying cozy. Whenever possible, take advantage of other cooling methods such as fans. The lower you set your thermostat
, the harder your system will have to work to attain that temperature. You may think shutting off your unit completely will save on energy and help your system, but that just creates more ground for it to make up when you turn it back on. It will have to work harder for a longer amount of time, which is something else that could lead to premature system failure.
Keep Up With AC Maintenance
Keeping a well-maintained system with normal, annual AC maintenance
is so critical. Our technicians will look at your air conditioner thoroughly and be sure the electric is working correctly, the coils and filters are clean and so much more. We take a deeper look to catch smaller problems before they become big breakdowns and turn in to an AC repair
appointment. Keeping cool and comfy in your own home isn’t something you should have to worry about, and with our annual AC maintenance you don’t have to worry. Give us a call at 714-855-1717 to set both your mind and system at ease. We look forward to working with you.
