Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels a mile long, but we have a handful of things that might save you some problems and keep you comfortable in the months to come. The weather is already heating up in Anaheim and the last thing you want is to discover is that you need AC repair. Going through this simple checklist now might save you from sweating this summer.
- Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost every one of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often overlooked. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more work on the system which diminishes the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often neglected as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency.
- Set Up Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we enter the picture to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it working at peak efficiency. Spring is the perfect time to set up your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be addressed before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a little investment into the lifecycle of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with all of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to make sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 714-855-1717.
